About Red O Designs

The idea for starting a website design and marketing company was borne of the idea that when a previous employer could no longer afford to keep me on full-time – but wanted me to remain on as a part-time or contract employee – then there must be other companies in this same situation. The idea being ‘we don’t want to pay a slew of employees – plus their benefits – so let’s eliminate their hours and therefore reduce our overhead’. Who can blame them? Benefits are expensive!

A properly and fully-staffed digital marketing company could and should have around 10 specialists in it. Such a department would have at least one of the following – each: a graphic and site designer, a programmer, a headline, ad and copy writer, a social media expert, an Adword or PPC expert and an SEO expert. If each earns $50,000 then their benefits are probably around $50,000 each – so you are paying about $1,000,000 – per year for those 10 employees. Who has that kind of money to throw around?

Over the course of my 25-year-career I’ve learned to do all of the specialized areas in my digital marketing company. I can code, create graphics, market, plan, strategize, get or do most things cheaply (or for free), I can take care of all the SEO there is, I know a lot of what Google is doing with their search metrics and algorithms… I have done all of this. I will continue to do all of this. I love all of this. Websites were once just an art – and now they are more of a science.

I also had the revelation that I AM a digital marketing company – by myself. I’ve tried to explain and teach (at a college nearby) web design to people – but there is too much that goes into website design now that I can’t explain it all. The thought of writing a book about how to do all of this crossed my mind – but it would be obsolete in 6 months. So I came back to the thought ‘why not outsource all of my abilities to other companies who do not want to attempt the really steep learning curve that is internet marketing?’ Companies would only pay for the services they need. They would not need to take the time to interview or hire anyone or pay any benefits or set up an office or buy any more equipment or hardware… It’s a win/win situation for all of us.

When you think about a website for your business, you need to think about two sites: a traditional website and a mobile optimized site. Not only is it important to have both – you may already be reaping the benefits of a traditional site – but many businesses are just beginning to understand how to take advantage of the mobile takeover. It’s no secret how mobile devices – specifically smartphones – have changed business models and our lives. Keep this in mind: 30x more mobile users are likely to find your small business online then they would by driving or walking by your business. Consider these convincing reasons why you need a perfect mobile site to benefit your business:
  • Mobile is everywhere: 350 million mobile devices are online – in the U.S. alone.
  • Mobile is search: 86 percent of Americans who own a mobile phone do a ‘near me’ shopping search for businesses. Your business needs to be in the search game because your competitors are.
  • Mobile is shopping: $51 trillion was spent on mobile phone purchases in 2018. Yes – trillion. Reach those customer or your competitors will.
  • Mobile is social: 81 percent of Americans are on at least one social media site. That’s around 35,000,000 people!
  • Reach your customers where they ‘hang out’ because social interactions are the new ‘word of mouth’.
We’ll be your business’s digital marketing department – without you nearing the extra overhead.
